Metal Louver Vent
Ventilation in steel buildings is one of the most common things our customers want to discuss with us. When it comes down to it, there are three primary ventilation methods used in stainless steel buildings: ridge vents or gable vents, circular vents, and louvers.
At Worldwide Steel Buildings, we recommend louvers to a lot of customers. Because they work simultaneously as an air intake and an air vent, block the building’s interior from wind-driven rain and debris, and are very customizable regarding placement. Because of the way air flows through a building, most louvers are placed near the peak of the endwall to act as attic ventilation, although there are always exceptions, depending on the size and intended use of your metal building.
A louver is a good choice for primary ventilation in a small metal building, or as part of a greater cross-ventilation system in a larger building. Because they can be added just about anywhere in metal paneling, a wall louver is an easy addition to a metal building with a variety of functions. In addition to cross-ventilation, louvers also help to regulate interior sun exposure and internal temperature, regulate air intake and airflow, act as exhaust vents, and – in the case of adjustable louvers or those with a vent cover – can provide your galvanized steel building with additional protection from high winds, loud noises and water penetration.
Louvered Vents as Part of your Metal Building Kit
Louvers are a great way to improve ventilation in your steel building, and a great accessory to add to your building kit. At Worldwide Steel, our louvers are made completely out of steel and come from the factory ready for installation. Whether you’re looking for a simple louver system or a motorized automatic shutter system that can be controlled remotely, adding louvers to your steel building will help even out the temperature variations from the ground level to the ceiling.
The experts at Worldwide Steel Buildings can help you plan the proper location and number of louvers and vents for your next project. We can even help you incorporate cupolas in your roofing to improve the airflow throughout your steel building, or recommend gable louvers with automatic shutter capabilities for attic vents in extra tall buildings.
